In fact, the U.S. is one of only 3 nations that have at least 20 unique companies producing fertilizer products. Fertilizer and its production are key to feeding the world as nearly one-half of the world’s food supply is due to the use of fertilizer.
The Fertilizer Industry’s (TFI) 2023 Fertilizer Capacity Report provides fertilizer production capacity by company by location in Canada and the United States by product across the three primary macronutrients – nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P2O5) and potassium (K) – which are the major building blocks of most fertilizers and comprise the bulk of all fertilizer produced.
The report includes data from 13/14 through 22/23 (excluding 20/21).
