The Fertilizer Industry’s (TFI) 2022 Fertilizer Modal Assessment considers a variety of data sources and provides best estimates of fertilizer logistical movements to farmers throughout the United States. The study also provides additional updates on the modal changes over the last 5 years due to changes in production, demand, and trade. The 2012 Fertilizer Modal Assessment established benchmark statistics on the volume shipped by the industry within the United States, the average distance shipped by nutrient, and the total ton-miles generated by each mode.
